Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions apply to participation in retreats and related experiences organised under The Lobster Society by Csenki-Király Boróka e.v.
By booking a retreat, paying a deposit or otherwise confirming your participation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions together with the applicable Cancellation Policy and Privacy Policy.
1. About The Lobster Society

The Lobster Society organises curated retreat experiences at selected private venues.
2. Eligibility
Participation in The Lobster Society retreats is limited to individuals aged 18 or over unless explicitly stated otherwise for a specific retreat.
By booking, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into an agreement.
3. Booking and Confirmation
A booking is considered confirmed once the required deposit has been received.
The standard deposit is generally €500, although the amount may differ between retreats. The exact deposit, total retreat fee and payment schedule will always be communicated before booking.
The deposit is non-refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law.
The remaining balance must be paid by the deadline communicated for the individual retreat.
If payment is not received by the relevant deadline, The Lobster Society may cancel the booking and offer the place to another participant.
4. What Is Included
The exact inclusions of each retreat will be described in the relevant retreat information.
Depending on the individual retreat, the participation fee may include:
- participation in the retreat programme;
- workshops and facilitated sessions;
- yoga, breathwork, movement, meditation or similar activities;
- selected group activities and experiences;
- meals or refreshments where stated;
- access to and stay at the private venue reserved for the retreat;
- other services specifically listed in the retreat description.
Only services explicitly stated as included form part of the retreat fee.
5. What Is Not Included
Unless specifically stated otherwise, participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own:
- flights;
- travel to and from the retreat destination;
- travel insurance;
- medical insurance;
- visas and travel documents;
- personal expenses;
- optional activities not included in the retreat programme;
- additional accommodation before or after the retreat.
The Lobster Society does not sell or arrange flights, travel insurance, visas or independent transportation to or from the retreat destination.
Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain comprehensive travel insurance immediately after confirming their booking.
6. Retreat Venue and Stay
Where included in the retreat fee, participants will have access to and may stay at the private venue reserved by The Lobster Society for the duration of the retreat.
The venue forms part of the overall retreat experience.
Room configuration, sleeping arrangements and facilities may vary depending on the venue and the retreat. Any important room or accommodation details will be communicated in advance where relevant.
Participants are expected to treat the venue, its contents, staff and surrounding environment with reasonable care and respect.
Participants may be held responsible for damage caused intentionally or through negligent behaviour.
7. Health and Personal Responsibility
Retreats may include physical, emotional or experiential activities such as yoga, movement, breathwork, hiking, swimming, water-based activities, meditation or other group sessions.
By participating, you acknowledge that such activities may involve inherent risks.
You are responsible for deciding whether you are physically and mentally able to participate in any particular activity.
You must inform The Lobster Society or the relevant facilitator of any circumstances that may materially affect your safe participation where appropriate.
Participation in any activity is voluntary. You may decline to participate in an activity if you do not feel comfortable doing so.
The Lobster Society does not provide medical, psychological or therapeutic treatment unless a specific service is expressly described as such and provided by an appropriately qualified professional.
Nothing offered during a retreat should be considered a substitute for professional medical or mental health advice, diagnosis or treatment.
8. Assumption of Risk
To the extent permitted by law, participants accept the ordinary and reasonably foreseeable risks associated with participating in retreat activities and travelling to or staying at the retreat venue.
The Lobster Society will take reasonable care in organising and delivering the retreat but cannot guarantee that every activity will be entirely free from risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
9. Conduct and Community Standards
The Lobster Society is designed to provide a safe, respectful and supportive environment for all participants.
Participants are expected to behave respectfully towards other guests, facilitators, staff, venue personnel and local communities.
The Lobster Society reserves the right to remove a participant from the retreat in cases of serious or repeated inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to:
- violence or threatening behaviour;
- harassment or discrimination;
- behaviour that creates a significant safety risk;
- serious disruption of the retreat;
- intentional damage to property;
- possession or use of illegal drugs;
- excessive intoxication or alcohol-related behaviour that endangers or seriously disturbs others;
- repeated refusal to comply with reasonable safety instructions.
Where a participant is removed because of their own serious misconduct, no refund is guaranteed, except where required by applicable law.
Any additional travel or accommodation costs resulting from removal from the retreat are the participant's responsibility.
10. Alcohol and Substances
Where alcohol is available or permitted, participants are expected to consume responsibly.
Illegal drugs and substances are not permitted.
The Lobster Society may restrict a participant's involvement in an activity where intoxication or substance use creates a safety concern.
11. Programme Changes
Retreats are living experiences and sometimes require reasonable adjustments.
The Lobster Society reserves the right to make changes to:
- the daily schedule;
- activities;
- facilitators;
- instructors;
- meal arrangements;
- venue arrangements;
- timings;
- other elements of the retreat.
Changes may be made for operational, safety, weather-related or other reasonable reasons.
Minor changes that do not materially alter the overall retreat experience do not automatically entitle participants to a refund.
If a significant change substantially affects the retreat, The Lobster Society will communicate this as soon as reasonably possible and provide any remedies required under applicable law.
12. Cancellation by the Participant
Participant cancellations are governed by the separate Cancellation Policy published by The Lobster Society.
Unless different terms are stated for a specific retreat, the general policy is:
- 60 days or more before the retreat: amounts paid beyond the non-refundable deposit are refundable;
- 30–59 days before the retreat: 50% of amounts paid beyond the non-refundable deposit are refundable;
- less than 30 days before the retreat: no refund is guaranteed.

13. Cancellation by The Lobster Society
If The Lobster Society cancels a retreat and is unable to provide it as agreed, participants will generally be offered either:
- a full refund of amounts paid to The Lobster Society for the cancelled retreat; or
- the option to transfer the amount paid to another retreat, where available.
This does not affect any mandatory rights available under applicable law.
The Lobster Society is not responsible for independently booked flights, additional accommodation, insurance or other third-party expenses except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
14. Extraordinary Circumstances
Circumstances outside the reasonable control of The Lobster Society may affect a retreat.
These may include natural disasters, severe weather, wildfire, government restrictions, public health emergencies, civil unrest, major infrastructure failures, significant transport disruption or similar unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances.
If such circumstances materially affect the ability to provide the retreat, The Lobster Society will make reasonable efforts to find an appropriate solution.
This may include programme changes, venue changes, rescheduling, credit towards another retreat or refunds where required by applicable law.
15. Transfer of a Booking
A participant who is unable to attend may request to transfer their place to another person.
Any transfer must be agreed in writing with The Lobster Society before the retreat.
The replacement participant must satisfy all applicable participation requirements.
Reasonable additional costs directly caused by the transfer may be charged.
16. Photography and Video
Photography and video recording may take place during The Lobster Society retreats.
Selected content may be used for The Lobster Society's website, social media, marketing, promotional materials or documentation of the retreat experience.
We respect participants who prefer not to appear in such content.
If you do not wish to be photographed or filmed for marketing purposes, you may inform The Lobster Society before or during the retreat. We will make reasonable efforts to respect your request.
Where specific or prominent use of a participant's image requires additional consent under applicable law, such consent will be obtained where necessary.
17. Personal Belongings
Participants are responsible for their own valuables, luggage and personal belongings.
The Lobster Society is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings except where the loss or damage results from circumstances for which liability cannot legally be excluded.
Participants are encouraged to ensure that valuable items are appropriately insured.
18. Third-Party Services
Some retreat activities or services may be delivered by independent facilitators, instructors, venues or other third-party providers.
Where applicable, participants may also be subject to reasonable rules or safety requirements imposed by those providers.
The Lobster Society will use reasonable care when selecting providers but cannot accept responsibility for matters outside its reasonable control except where required by law.
19. Participant Travel Responsibilities
Participants are solely responsible for ensuring that they:
- hold valid travel documents;
- meet passport and visa requirements;
- comply with entry and immigration rules;
- arrange their own travel to and from the destination;
- arrive in sufficient time for the retreat;
- obtain any recommended or required insurance.
Changes to flights, missed connections or other personal travel disruptions do not automatically entitle a participant to a refund.
20. Intellectual Property
All materials created by or for The Lobster Society, including branding, written materials, retreat concepts, digital content, photographs, programme materials and other original content, remain the intellectual property of The Lobster Society or the relevant rights holder.
Participants may not reproduce, commercially distribute or use protected materials for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
21. Website Information
The Lobster Society makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on its website and social channels is accurate.
However, retreat information may occasionally change.
The details communicated directly to a participant in relation to a specific confirmed booking will take precedence over older or general website content where there is a clear inconsistency.
22. Privacy
Personal information is handled in accordance with The Lobster Society Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation where applicable.
23. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict any rights that cannot legally be excluded under Hungarian or European Union consumer protection law.
Where mandatory legal provisions conflict with these Terms, the mandatory legal provisions will prevail.
24. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by Hungarian law.
Where applicable consumer protection rules give a participant mandatory rights under the law of another jurisdiction, those rights are not excluded by this provision.
Any dispute should first be raised directly with The Lobster Society so that the parties can attempt to resolve the matter amicably.
